Share Your Holidays Donates to The Salvation Army and Neighbors' Place
Share Your Holidays at News Channel 7 has kicked off and staff will be walking in the Wausau Holiday Parade Friday, Dec. 5. Nonperishable food and monetary donations will be collected and given to The Neighbors' Place and The Salvation Army.
Tom Rau, Executive Director of the Neighbors' Place, shared that the food and money collected during this time of the year really helps the food bank provide into the colder winter months.
Around the holidays The Neighbors' Place sees approximately 100 families a day in need, and the food pantry is open five days a week.
Over at The Salvation Army of Marathon County, Social Services Director Ed Wilson says they have been seeing a growing number of families and individuals in need over the years.
Now is an important time for the community to reach out and donate, however consider donating throughout the entire year as well.
The Wausau Holiday Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at Marathon Park and ends at the 400 Block. Nonperishable goods and monetary donations will be collected along the entire route.
