Record Donations to Share Your Holidays in 2012

NewsChannel 7's annual food drive and fundraiser, Share Your Holidays shattered a record in 2012.

With the matching grants, donors gave $44,037 and hundreds of bags of food.

All of it goes to the Salvation Army and Neighbor's Place.

Share Your Holidays started on December 7, with members of the NewsChannel 7 staff taking donations during the Wausau Holiday Parade.

Other events included the Celebrity Gas Pump that expanded to include an evening edition this year. That's where members of the TV station staff pumped gas in return for a donation.

Staff members also bagged groceries in return for donations at the annual Check out Hunger event.

NewsChannel 7 anchor Jeff Thelen made presentation of the check to the charities during a live broadcast in NewsChannel 7 at 5 on December 21.

But the account will stay open until the end of the year.
