Portage County Business Council recognizes local leaders and businesses

Building local economies not only takes the right business plan, but the right business leaders.
That's why the Portage County Business Council Tuesday night recognized a handful of local community leaders and businesses who have made a significant impact in their community.
There were winners in four different categories.
The 2018 Ambassador of the Year award went to Sarah Agena, who was recognized for being the most active and engaged volunteer.
River's Edge Campground was awarded 2018 Small Business of the Year. The campground caters to thousands of campers, water park visitors and patrons to its restaurant Bullheads Bar and Grill every year.
The 2018 Decree of Excellence award went to Lineage Logistics, which is now the largest temperature controlled storage provider in the world.
Finally, Doug Ballweg of Delta Dental was given the 2018 President's Award for being an influential leader in Portage County.
"Just some great businesses that do more than just run a business or people in the business community. They care about the community. They give back so much," said Todd Kuckkahn, the Portage County Business Council Executive Director.
NewsChannel 7 was a proud sponsor of the event. Holly Chilsen was the evening's Master of Ceremonies.
