Police: Pet owner moves from Weston apartment, leaves cats behind

WESTON, Wis. (WSAW) -- Criminal charges have been recommend for a person accused of moving, and not taking their pets.

According to the Everest Metro Police Department incident log, on Oct. 18, the Humane Officer was contacted about some cats that were left behind at an apartment.

The cats were located.

The owner’s name was not released. Police are recommending they be charged with failure to provide proper food and drink for an animal and abandoning animals.
