Phone scams continue in Dane Co., sheriff's office warns

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)-- Dane County Sheriff's Office is warning residents to be on the lookout for phone scams Thursday.

The Sheriff's Office wrote on its Facebook page that scams are still occurring in our area. The office says suspects are attempting to impersonate local businesses.

The fraudsters allegedly tell residents that they are delinquent on their payments, or that services will be canceled if they don't funnel money to an account.

The Sheriff's Office recommends if a call doesn't feel right, you should contact the business directly.
