Patriots Josh McDaniels declines Bengals interview request

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- Green Bay Packers President & CEO Mark Murphy will interview New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Friday regarding the Packers head coaching position according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

As of Thursday it looks like McDaniels will only be talking to the Packers. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports McDaniels has told the Cincinnati Bengals he’s “passing on Cincy’s request” to talk to him.

The Packers interviewed Interim Head Coach Joe Philbin on Wednesday according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Tom Silverstein.

- Friday: Patriots Offensive coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach Josh McDaniels, Patriots Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores

- Saturday: New Orlans Saints Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach Dan Campbell, Saints Offensive Coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr.

- Sunday: Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleur

McDaniels was announced as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts on Feb. 6, 2018 but withdrew from the position later that day and decided to stay with the Patriots.
