From John Mulaney to Jim Gaffigan, some of America's top comedians have roots in the midwest. Two teams of improv comedy students at Pacelli High School in Stevens Point will take part later this month in the Destination Imagination Global competition in Knoxville, Tenn. The students will join 17,000 others, representing 20 countries including Japan, Brazil, Qatar and Congo.

To raise money for the trip, the students will host a special performance and all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, titled 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Knoxville!'

Pacelli students Ben Bisone, Karisa Mansavage, and Becca Formella as well as Coach Anne Rogalski stopped by Sunrise 7 Friday morning to talk about the competition.

In the past, teams from Pacelli Catholic Schools have ranked in the top three at Globals. As members of Alpha Omega, Mansavage and Formella placed 14th in 2015. Another Pacelli team, The Crew, took second place.

'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Knoxville!' is Saturday night at Pacelli High School with the all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner starting a 5 p.m. Adult admission is $10 for the dinner, $8 for the show or $15 for both. For students, it's $8 for the dinner, $5 for the show or $10 for both.
