WSAW/WZAW team pumps gas, collects 'Share Your Holidays' donations

Members of the WSAW/WZAW news team braced the cold weather to pump gas and collect food donations at the Wagner Shell in Weston.
It was a busy Friday morning for the news crew as area residents brought in food and donated cash for Share Your Holidays. The team collected $2,252, which doubles last year's donations.
The money and food benefit the food pantries at the Neighbors' Place and the Salvation Army Wausau chapter. In 2015, the community donated $61,000 total to Share Your Holidays.
This holiday season, the stations hope to collect $69,000. With matching grants, the team would reach its goal of collecting $250,000 since Share Your Holidays began more than a decade ago.
Staff members will be in full force again Friday evening collecting donations at the Wagner Shell on Stewart Ave. in Wausau from 4-7 p.m.
WSAW-TV NewsChannel 7 has served Central Wisconsin communities as Your Local News and Weather Authority for more than 60 years. Owned by Gray Television, the station is sister to FOX affiliate WZAW-TV. The stations share studios on Grand Avenue in Wausau.
