WESTON, Wis. (WSAW) -- About 100 law enforcement members showed up in force Thursday for the somber day of remembrance at the Everest Metro Police Department.

It came with a message for all those who have carried pain since March 22. Thursday marked one year since a man went on a shooting spree across the Wausau-area killing for people. All four were named as part of a moment of silence, broadcast on all police and fire scanner channels at 1:16 p.m.

"In observance to the one year anniversary of March 22, 2017 tragedy, we ask that you now take a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims: Karen L. Barclay, Dianne M. Look, Sara Quirt Sann and Everest Metro Police Detective Jason Weiland.”

At the ceremony Chaplin Ray blessed Weiland's family. Grateful March 22 had not made them bitter, but had rather inspired them and so many in the community to be amazing and help others.
