Missing Marathon Co. man found dead

ARGONNE, Wis (WSAW) -- On Friday, April 19 around 5:58 p.m., the Forest County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a vehicle off the roadway near the intersection of Hwy 32 and Strong Road in the Town of Argonne.

Forest County Sheriff’s Deputies, Crandon Police, local Fire Departments, and Rescue squads responded to the call and discovered a vehicle in a densely wooded area and an unresponsive male subject inside the vehicle.

Further investigation found the male subject to be deceased and identified as Richard Czarnecki who has been missing since October of 2018. The Department of Justice had issued a Silver Alert for him when he was reported missing.

Rothschild Police was notified and made contact with Mr. Cznarnecki’s family a short time after Forest County Sheriff’s Office informed them of their findings.

This incident is still under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
