WAUSAU, WI (WSAW) -- Race car drivers from throughout north central Wisconsin arrived at Day's Bowl-A-Dome lanes in Wausau to bowl with special Olympic athletes and children.
Starting at noon race car drivers and their pit crews split up in teams to participate in the friendly competition that also served as a fundraiser. Everyone from dirt track racers, asphalt racers, and even truck racers participated in the day of bowling.
‘This is all to have fun while raising money for a good cause,” shared Tracy Benz as she volunteered. “It’s the comradery between the people that are here and the drivers, it's a great feeling."
Roughly 15 athletes participated in the bowling event. This was the 13th that Day's Bowl-A-Dome held the event.
