Intruder shot by homeowner in Juneau County identified as Wisconsin Rapids man

The Juneau County Sheriff’s Department has identified a man accused of breaking into a home in Mather as Todd Parker, 21 of Wisconsin Rapids.

Investigators said Parker attempted to break in to a business in Mather around 4 a.m. Wednesday. When he was unable to gain access he went to a home in Mather and entered the home. The homeowner confronted the suspect, identified as Parker, and Parker reportedly left. He will subsequently be taken to the jail and will face charges.

According to a news release, while the crime was reported, Parker attempted to force his way into the home again, yelling threats at the occupants. Investigators said Parker broke a window in the door and the homeowner fired several shots with a handgun.

Parker was shot multiple times. According to a news release, Parker was flown to a hospital but is expected to be released in the coming days.

Agencies from State Patrol, Monroe County and Culter Fire Department assisted in the investigation.
