NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WSAW)- A 10-day trial is scheduled to begin in March for the 28-year-old man investigators said caused a crash that killed two women.
Michelle Kunze, 29, and Genie Carrillo, 35 were both killed Dec. 15, 2017 when their vehicle was struck on Highway 10 west of Neillsvile in the township of Pine Valley.
Authorities said Trenton Bemis crossed the center line on Highway 10 and struck Kunze's car.
He's charged with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, homicide by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration and homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.
Following the crash, Bemis was transported to a Marshfield hospital for his injuries.
Speed, road conditions and driver impairment appeared to be factors in the crash, according to a news release.
The trial is scheduled to begin March 23.
