Ho-Chunk holds ribbon cutting for new casino expansion
Ho-Chunk gaming unveiled a new casino expansion by holding a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday in Wittenberg.
The Ho-Chunk tribe cut the ribbon on its new additions after $33 million worth of work at its facility.
The new facility includes a three meal restaurant, and hotel in the making.
"Anytime you open up something brand new it’s got a lot of buzz and excitement. And that is something we really worked hard at is generating the buzz and excitement for new players. Also rewarding our existing customers over the years. Everyone was really excited and there was just a mob of people rushing in as we opened up the doors," said Public Relations officer for the Ho-Chuck Nation Collin Price.
The expansion did not come without hurdles.
Just this week a lawsuit was dismissed over the Ho-Chunk's plans to expand the casino.
The casino and its expansion are now open for business.
