ADAMS CO. (WSAW) - State Highway 21 in Adams County is now open after flood waters receded. The highway was closed much of the day Thursday. The county warns the shoulders of the highway may be impacted.

County Highway J in the 6th Court area remains closed indefinitely. Drivers should use State Hwy 21 and County Road E as alternate routes. County Highway G from State Highway 21 North to County Hwy C will remain closed, according to a news release.

Adams County Emergency Management warns many other county highways continue to have water over the roads.

The county's website says if you need sand bags, or need to fill them after hours, they're available at the Adams County Highway Dept. Office at 1342 County Road F, and at the Rome Municipal Building at 1156 Alpine Drive.

They ask that you bring your own shovels to fill sand bags.
