After one toy store closed in Stevens Point, another one was created, and now fast forward many years, and Gepetto's Workshop still stands tall serving the community with the best toys around.

"Gepetto's was started 38 years ago here on Main Street by my sister-in-law, Bonnie Brown," explained manager Paul Doxsee. "After losing the only toy store in town, Bonnie decided to accept the challenge and Gepetto's Workshop was soon created!"

Doxsee said that his love for toys is nothing new, as they're something that can be used as a safe way for kids to try new things and test new roles.

"Puppets, costumes, arts, building toys, games and skill development toys all can fill critical development opportunities. Some of this experimentation can become lifelong careers or passions," Doxsee explained.

And this year for the Christmas season, Gepetto's Workshop is fully stocked with the 'American Specialty Retailing Association's' Toys of the Year.

"We are the only specialty toy stores in the Stevens Point area and one of the prettiest toy stores in Wisconsin," Doxsee mentioned. "We’ve long been a favored destination for residents and visitors and one of the foundations of a Main Street shopping experience."

Doxsee said that one of the things that keeps him and the store going are seeing customers return saying that they remember the store from when they were little.
