First Alert Weather Day: Showers/storms today
A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Monday for a chance for some showers today with some areas potentially seeing thunderstorms this afternoon. By the afternoon hours, we could see the development of a few thunderstorms. The latest models are indicating the best chance to see thunderstorms would be north of 29, but one or two may sneak south of 29.
Thankfully the severe risk has dropped off today, as the SPC currently does not have us included in a risk area.
Nonetheless, we may still see a few thunderstorms later this afternoon, and they could bring heavy downpours, thunder, lightning and small hail.
Clouds will continue to build out ahead of a warm front, that will trigger the chance for storms Monday afternoon into the early evening hours for Monday as well. Temperatures will soar into the 80s for Tuesday, with another strong cold front arriving Tuesday night. There could be another round of strong to severe thunderstorms in central Wisconsin again Tuesday night.
