Fire crews on scene of barn fire for more than 12 hours in Marathon Co.


NORRIE, Wis. (WSAW) -- Multiple fire crews were on scene for more than 12 hours for a barn fire in the Town of Norrie, in eastern Marathon County.

Birnamwood Fire Chief Randy Berger told NewsChannel 7 the fire was reported around 6:15 a.m. Saturday inside a coverall barn on the 1200 block of Evergreen Road.

Chief Berger said there were about 2,500 bales of hay and straw inside the barn and took a lot of water to contain and put out the flames.

Hatley and Easton Firefighters also assisted on scene.

No injuries were reported.
