EAST TROY, Wis. (AP) -- Students at a southern Wisconsin high school have been evacuated and the bomb squad summoned to the building.
The East Troy Community School District posted a notice on its website that some suspicious items were found in a student's locker Monday morning, so students were told to leave the building. Classes were canceled.
WISN-TV reports the district's superintendent said the school was evacuated after "an unknown substance in a glass jar" was found inside a student's locker.
Superintendent Christopher Hibner told parents that classes remain on schedule for Tuesday, but the final decision will be made after consulting law enforcement.
No entry was being allowed to the high school until authorities clear the building. An update on the district's website says agencies have completed the search, and after-school activities will go on as scheduled.
