DNR: Wisconsin hunters harvest nearly 27% fewer deer during opening weekend

Wis. (WSAW) -- Preliminary numbers from opening weekend of Wisconsin's 9-day gun deer hunting season show hunters harvested nearly 27% fewer deer in 2019 than they did in 2018.

According to the DNR, only 90,286 deer were harvested during opening weekend. That includes both antlered and antlerless deer.
