Cyber security breach at major Green Bay corporation
There's a cyber security breach at a large Green Bay corporation and police believe hundreds of thousands of dollars was stolen.
At the corporation's request, police are not releasing the name of the major employer, but say several dozen employees had their information stolen.
That includes direct deposit and bank routing information.
This serves as a good reminder to always update your passwords.
"People say, alright, I've got to have a number and an upper case character," said Mike Teske, I.T. and security instructor at NWTC. "Well what character is going to be upper case? Its going to be the first one. Now you've given the hackers--now they know that. Where do you put the number? At the end, right. So we're not really being real complex when we just follow those same practices."
Police say this breach is also a good reminder to continually monitor our bank accounts, too.
