The criminal complaint for a 10-year-old girl charged with the death of a 6-month-old baby has been unsealed in Chippewa County Circuit Court, however all of the defendant's information has been redacted in online court records.

WEAU-TV reports the criminal complaint was filed Dec. 4.

Investigators said Jaxon Hunter died when the 10-year-old girl stomped on his head. The girl reportedly told investigators she was holding the baby when she dropped him and he would not stop crying. The baby died Nov. 1 at a Twin Cities children's hospital.

The incident happened at a licensed home day care near Chippewa Falls.

According to his obituary, “Jaxon was a super happy baby who loved rolling around, swinging his arms and kicking”.

Wisconsin law requires that first-degree homicide charges initially be brought in adult court if the accused is age 10 or older. However, the case could eventually be transferred to juvenile court.

The girl is being held in a juvenile detention center on $50,000. She's due back in court in mid-January.
