UPDATE: Plane makes safe landing at CWA following landing gear issue

A pilot that reported a landing gear issue Wednesday morning has safely landed at Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee.

NewsChannel 7 has learned the pilot was getting an indication that the landing gear on the plane was not dropping or locking into place. He made several passes over the airport. On the last pass, the pilot received a notification that the landing gear was in place. The pilot was able to land the plane normally.

Eleven people were on board the plane at the time.

Several area fire departments responded to the industrial park across from the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee for an emergency landing call. The call came in a 10:33 a.m. Wednesday. The plane landed safely around 10:50 a.m.

The C-47 was coming from EAA AirVenture to attend the Warbird Rendezvous at the Central Wisconsin Airport.

The pilot is from Florida.

Mosinee, SAFER, Riverside, Kronenwetter, Stratford, and Wausau were all requested to respond to the scene.
