Pizza & police event honors fallen officers

Wausau, Wis., (WSAW) -- For another year, police and pizza will collaborate to raise money to honor men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Brew Pub Lotzza Motzza Pizza in conjunction with the Wausau Police Department will be hosting the 3rd annual “Pizza with Police” to celebrate local officers during National Law Enforcement Week.

To explain what to expect when the Brew Pub Pizza Trailer rolls into town, Matt Selvig, AKA “Mottza Matt” joined Sunrise 7 along with Captain Todd Baeten from the Wausau PD.

From 4 to 7 p.m. on May 17, the public is invited to enjoy a ¼ Brew Pub Pizza and beverage for $5 at Wausau’s 400 Block. Complimentary Lotzza Motzza pizza will also be served out of the Brew Pub Pizza Trailer

It will be an event for the entire family. Captain Baeten says Wausau police squad cars, a K-9, Marathon County SWAT armored vehicle, Bomb Disposal Vehicle with 2 Robots, and the joint Marathon County/ Wausau Police Department Command Trailer will all be there.

The afternoon’s proceeds will go back to the Museum of Valor which will be located in Madison, WI honoring men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
