Central Wis. Show Choir Spectacular marks 15 years of musical competition

COLBY, Wis. (WSAW) -- Saturday's Central Wisconsin Show Choir Spectacular in Colby promises to be the largest in the event's 15 year history.

Twenty groups will perform, with interest growing after the event was honored with the Aspire Award for Best Regional Competition by the Show Choir National Championship Series. Colby Director Kevin Spindler and several members of the Colby Coalition stopped by Sunrise 7 Monday morning to talk about the event and perform. Groups are judged on vocals and choreography as well as music.

The 2019 Central Wisconsin Show Choir Spectacular starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Colby High School. The top groups from the day competition move on to perform in an evening sing-off for Grand Champion.

There is an admission fee of $12 for the prelims in the morning, $12 for the finals in the evening or $15 for both rounds. Doors open at 7 a.m.
