COVID-19 cancellations around northcentral Wisconsin

Events and services are being canceled area-wide due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here is a list: (please bookmark this page, as it will be updated as new information comes into our newsroom)

Restaurants-

- Per Governor Tony Evers' emergency order #5 March 17, 2020,

ALL Wisconsin restaurants and bars will remain closed until further notice.
***However, restaurants can remain open for take out and delivery.
Governments-

-

Wausau City Hall

Starting Monday, March 23, the second and third floor of the Wausau City Hall will be inaccessible to the public. If there's something you need, visit the city's website or call the appropriate department. The Clerk’s office will be closed for all payment processing, the only service that will be provided is for in-person early voting. All payments will be accepted online. The city is requesting that registered voters have an absentee ballot mailed to them.

Everest Metro Police Department

Municipal Court will not be open for in-person service. Police Department lobby will be closed immediately until further notice. Public should call 715-359-4202 for questions or non-emergency related issues.

Marathon County Circuit Court

All small claims hearing beginning March 18 at 10 a.m. have been cancelled until further notice.

Marshfield

The Oak Avenue and Second Street Community Center. (Elections planned for April 7 at both community centers and Wildwood Station are going on as planned. The Parks and Recreation office, Community Foundation and Job Center offices will be open as usual, just activities and events at the Second Street Community Center are suspended.)

- Senior Center activities and events.

- All activities and events through the Marshfield Parks and Recreation Department.

Mosinee Mayor Brent Jacobson

is asking all residents to refrain from visiting

Mosinee City Hall

, with the exception of absentee voters.

Portage County

has canceled all Portage County Lodge Reservations until further notice.

Village of Rothschild

has declared a public health state of emergency. All Village of Rothschild buildings are closed. Access is by appointment only.

Village of Weston

is closing the Municipal Center until further notice.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation

Public Involvement Meeting for WIS 29/Shawano County U project is cancelled. The meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Herman Town Hall. Meeting materials will be posted on the project website by the end of the week.

Higher Education-

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

will be extending spring break by one week, due to increased uncertainties around the spread of the Coronavirus. According to a letter sent to students, faculty, and staff, classes will resume March 30. At that point, the university will suspend all in-person classes and shift to alternative delivery methods. This applies to all three UWSP campuses and field stations. The university will remain open and employees are expected to report to work unless they are ill.

All Wisconsin Public and Private Schools K-12-

originally closed through April 5, 2020....

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wausau

. After school programming and dinner service will be closing Wednesday evening. (March 18, 2020)

All club locations will close beginning March 19, 2020 until further notice.

CUP Food Pantry at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby

Good News Project

E-cycling program will closed until further notice. It is an important part of their annual income, so they encourage you to hold your items for recycling until their doors reopen.

Habitat for Humanity of Wausau

has suspended all donation intake and store operation until further notice.

Marathon County Historical Society

closed until further notice. Scheduled programs and tours also are suspended for the next several weeks.

St. Vincent de Paul in Marshfield

, store has closed until further notice outreach center remains open.

St. Vincent de Paul in Merrill

, retail store hours Tue-Sat 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at this time. NO drop-offs.

The United Way of Marathon County

has announced the following cancellations and postponements. The following has been postponed at this time.

-Non-Profit Board Training on March 23, 2020

-RSVP- Using Hand Only CPR Class on March 24, 2020

-Annual RSVP Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on April 2, 2020.

-Power of the Purse fundraiser on May 4, 2020

-Smack Hunger on May 13, 2020.

-AARP has made the decision to close their tax preparation sites statewide, including services in Marathon County. At this time, there is no plan to reschedule these appointments.

The Woodson YMCA

suspended all youth and adult programming until April 5… including: water exercise programs, swim lessons, swim team, gymnastics classes, youth and adult sports leagues as well as other organized programs.

In addition, the Landing Senior Activity Center will be closed until April 5.

*** Licensed childcare and before/after school age programs will remain *open* during this time.

The Central Chamber Chorale Concerts

are cancelled. The concert slated for Friday March 20, 2020, may be live streamed. In addition, the following concerts have been canceled:

Medford, March 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Marshfield, March 22nd at 3 p.m.

in Stevens Point scheduled for March 28, will be postponed to a later date.

The Grand Theater

has suspended all public performances and events through April 3.

Journeys Half Marathon

in Eagle River canceled. Was scheduled for May 9.

Nutterville Snownuts

raffle event for March 22 at Loading Zone has been rescheduled for May 17 from 1-5 p.m.

5th Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt

held in Downtown Minocqua on April 4 is canceled.

Portage County Cultural Fest

scheduled for May 9 is canceled.

with Tom Tiffany and Mike Pence scheduled for March 19 is canceled.

has been rescheduled to October 23-25, 2020.

Dental Clinics-

Szmanda Dental Centers

offices in Wausau, Marathon, Edgar and Wittenberg will be temporarily closed for the safety of patients and staff. All appointments will be rescheduled. For emergencies call 715-845-3200.

Marshfield Clinic Family Health Centers

a message on Instagram says for the safety of patients and staff the dental centers are temporarily closed.

Quirt Dentistry

Libraries-

- The

Boulder Junction Public Library

will be closed to the public starting March 19 at 1 p.m. through at least April 5, 2020.

Colby Community Library

is closed until further notice. It is tentatively set to open, Monday April 6, 2020.

The Demmer Library in Three Lakes

is cancelling programs and closing due to COVID-19 concerns until further notice.

Everett Roehl Library (Marshfield)

closed through Monday April 6, 2020.

Marathon County Public Library Locations

closed until April 27, 2020.

McMillan Memorial Library (Wisconsin Rapids)

The library will close for the next two weeks. McMillan will not reopen until the COVID-19 situation allows, with a minimum of two weeks expected.

Portage County Library Locations

are closed through (at least) April 6, 2020. Online services, such as Hoopla and Overdrive, will remain available.

Rhinelander District Library

will remain closed until further notice. Will re-evaluate Friday April 3, 2020.

The T.B. Scott Free Library

in Merrill, is closed until further notice.

Casinos-

All Ho-Chunk Gaming Facilities

to close no later than Friday March 20, 2020 at 12 a.m. Tentative re-opening is set for 7 a.m. April 4, 2020.

Mole Lake Casino

will be closing for at least two weeks, starting Saturday March 21, 2020 at midnight. Will re-evaluate before officially re-opening.

NorthStar Casino in Bowler

will close at midnight Saturday, March 21, 2020 for two weeks.

Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel in Forest County

will suspend operations beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday March 18, 2020. This will be until further notice.

Banks and Credit Unions-

Most local bank branch lobbies are closed until further notice

. Many drive-ups and phone services remain available. Please call ahead.

Gyms and Fitness Centers-

Greenheck Field House

closed until further notice. Will likely reopen April 6.

All scheduled events and classes in the building are canceled. Group fitness, facility and child care are closed. Memberships will be extended for the time of the building closure.

Tri-County Gymnastics & Cheer

likely closed until March 29.

all stores including Wausau will reduce store hours to 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and Noon - 6 p.m. Sundays

The ARDC of Portage County

, starting Monday March 16, 2020 will:

Suspend all senior center and congregate dining activities. This includes meal sites in Amherst, Junction City, Plover, Rosholt and Stevens Point including Lincoln Center until further notice. My Meal My Way in Rosholt and Plover are also suspended. If a participant requires a meal, they should contact our office to arrange for home delivered meals.

Home delivered meal delivery will continue as scheduled. Still, due to the fluid manner of the COVID-19 situation, we will be asking the participants and volunteer drivers to take precautions. ***This service is subject to change at any time.***

ADRC meal site at the Community Center

(We will continue to work with Aging and Disability Resource Center staff on finding a solution in order to provide meals that are served at the Community Center.)

Day's Bowl-A-Dome

will discontinue 24 hour store operations until further notice. All store locations (including Marshfield), will be closed from 12 a.m. until 5 a.m. every morning.
