A panel consisting of surgeons, genetic counselors, physicians and breast health coordinators answered phone calls during the 4th annual Buddy Check phone bank held at WSAW-TV in partnership with Marshfield Clinic, Thursday.

In his first year with the phone bank, Dr. Michael Harl answered unique questions specific to the plastic surgery process that comes after a breast cancer diagnosis.

"We'll discuss the various reconstruction options to make the patient feel whole again," Dr. Harl said.

Genetic Counselor Kyle Salsbery was also new to the panel this year, and answered many questions about the trending topic of genetic testing.

"Our role is to help identify patients who are at risk for having a hereditary cancer condition, so, common characteristics or early age diagnosis," Salsbery said.

This year, more than 60 people called in and had their questions answered free of charge and confidentially.
