UPDATE: Victim in Mosinee area crash Identified

According to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, 22-year-old Lynn Herschberger from Coloma died following a crash Wednesday morning south of Mosinee.

Investigators say a passenger car heading north on I-39 lost control as it was trying to change lanes. A semi could not avoid hitting the car. The car's driver, a 48-year-old man, and three other passengers, ages 21, 23, and 25 sustained non life threatening injuries.

The semi driver, a 51-year-old man from Ontario, was not injured.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. on I-39 Near mile marker 175.

A second crash occurred just minutes later near mile marker 173 involving two vehicles. One person was reported to have a head injuries, but was conscious.

First responders from Mosinee, Knowlton, Rothschild, Schofield, Stratford and the Marathon County Sheriff's Dept. have all been requested to respond.

Snow began falling around 9:30 a.m. The Marathon County Sheriff's Department stated on their Facebook page roads were icy in that area.
