ANTIGO, Wis. (WSAW)-- For nearly five decades the Antigo community has recapped the holiday season in a unique way – the annual burning of Christmas trees.
Every year since the early 1970s, the Antigo Optimist Club organizes a Christmas tree burning. Residents pile hundreds of trees and sip hot chocolate and snacks around the warm fire.
The event is Monday, Jan. 14 at 5:30 in south parking lot at Antigo High School.
The event is free.
