Annual radiothon raises money for local kids battling life-changing illnesses

MARSHFIELD,Wis.(WSAW)-- There are thousands of children throughout Central Wisconsin diagnosed with a life changing illnesses. To get those children and their families the help they need Children's Miracle Network at Marshfield Hospital is holding their annual radiothon on December 7th & 8th.

Amanda Lancour is the program manager for the Children's Miracle Network and said all of the donations collected during the fundraiser will go toward the treatment of children at the hospital.

"Each year we treat over 5,000 kids in our children's hospital and we also have over 30 pediatric specialties and thorough that care and we treat nearly 80 thousand kids annually," said Lancour.

Kaitlyn Schrock is the mother of Lincoln a 3-year-old boy being treated at the Marshfield Children's Hospital she said it's a blessing to see so many people donating to a great cause.

"He is diagnosed with stage 4 high risk Blastoma. It's stage 4 because its all through his bone marrow in his body so it is advanced." said Schrock."As a mom walking through this journey that means so much to me."
