Advice from experts on health, wellness, and cancer prevention available for free at Marshfield Clinic event

An event aimed to educate people on healthy living and cancer prevention is free for the public. The event, "Everyday Wellness" offers group sessions with four experts on four topics: Diet, Sleep, Exercise, and Essential Oils.

Marshfield Clinic will also offer attendees free products to help implement some of the changes suggested by experts. The YMCA and other organizations will also be available at the event.

Marshfield Clinic offers the wellness event as a part of two events held each year. Survivorship Coordinator Megan Anderson said 3x as many people signed up for this event than usual.

"It tells me this a topic people really care about and we're going to give them that information they need to know" she said.

Marshfield Clinic Health System will host Everyday Wellness: Eat, Sleep, Move from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Froehlke Auditorium at the Laird Center for Medical Research, 1000 N. Oak Ave. Parking is available in parking lots L and B.

5:50-6 p.m. – Welcome

6-6:45 p.m. – Sleep Well-Managing Insomnia by Joseph T. Chojnacki, Ph.D., clinical/health psychologist, Marshfield Clinic Health System

6:50-7:10 p.m. – Healthy By Choice by Arlene A. Gayle M.D., hematologist/oncologist, Marshfield Clinic Health System

7:15-7:35 p.m. – Dare to Be by Dave Candra, C.P.T., owner/head fitness coach at Forever Fit, Stevens Point

7:40-8 p.m. – 101 Uses of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint, Essential Oils to Support Health by Trish Brey, wellness advocate, certified in aroma touch therapy

The next wellness event will be held on June 3, 2019 to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day.
