KNOWLTON, Wis. (WSAW) -- Firefighters from the Mosinee Fire District are warning residents to burn with caution after a vehicle sparked a small grass fire in the Town of Knowlton.

A vehicle traveling north on Highway 51 started on fire just after 5:00 p.m. Sunday night. The fire cause a small patch of grass on the side of the highway to burn.

"It's just so dry right now. It's the dry season so even after this rain be very careful when you burn. Have a hose line out there or a garden hose. Keep it controlled," Mosinee Deputy Chief Emily Dobeck said.

The Wisconsin DNR listed fire dangers as very high from Marathon County Sunday night.
