3 arrested following weekend heroin overdose
Three people were charged Monday after a 36-year-old man overdosed on heroin over the weekend.
Authorities were called to a home on the 800 block of 12th Avenue in Wausau Saturday for non responsive person. When police arrived, the reporting party told officers the man had already been, “narcaned”. Narcan is an opiate antidote.
According to court documents, officers were concerned as three people had overdosed in Wausau in just a few days. It's unclear if the overdoses are related. The man did survive. Court documents state the man had spent $90,000 on a heroin habit last year.
Treg Leder, 27, Roderick Schultz, 49 and Tammy Woellner, 46 all made their first court appearance Monday in connection to the case.
Leder faces the most serious counts. He's accused of selling heroin to the person a that overdose.
His mother, Woellner and her boyfriend, Schultz are charged with possessing drug paraphernalia, possessing illegally obtain prescriptions and maintain a drug trafficking place. A search warrant was execute a a home on E. Union Street the three shared. Inside, investigation found item used for packaging and selling drugs.
Wollener and Schultz are free on signature bonds. Leder will be released from custody on $10,000 bond if he is able to post the first $5,000 in cash.
