Criminal charges have been filed against a 46-year-old Stevens Point man accused of causing a fatal motorcycle crash in Adams County.

Investigators said around 4 p.m. Saturday, the Rome Police Department responded to the crash near the 100 block of County Highway Z.

Investigators said Marcus Bosworth was operating a motorcycle south on County Highway Z. Witnesses reported Bosworth was traveling at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of the motorcycle, while negotiating a sharp curve in the roadway. While the motorcycle was out of control, it struck the south guardrail of CTH Z. Witnesses reported, his passenger, Shawnna Bosworth, 44, was ejected from the motorcycle during the incident. Shawnna Bosworth died as result of her injuries.

Marcus Bosworth was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. He was treated and released into police custody.

He's expected to be charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, causing death while operating without a valid driver’s license, and bail jumping.

He's free on $3,500 cash bond.

He's expected to be formally charged July 7.
