Stella was born in New York City and raised nearby in New Jersey, but she still considers herself to have Wisconsin blood—her father’s family calls the state home.
Stella graduated from UW-Madison School of Journalism in May 2019. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and received the Eric J. Miller Scholarship for excellence in video journalism. During her time in college, she enjoyed interning at NBC15 in Madison and working on the UW student radio station, WSUM 91.7FM, where she co-created a political news hour. She also studied Spanish language and is fluent.
Stella grew up acting and loves musical theatre, but she knew she was born to work in news when she visited a newspaper on a middle school field trip.
When she’s not in the newsroom, Stella has fun eating her way through Wisconsin’s cheese curds, even though she’s lactose intolerant. She is excited to explore this part of the state. If you see her around, please introduce yourself!
