Matt Infield joined WSAW in August 2018 primarily as a sports reporter, with some responsibilities in news as well.
Most recently, Matt worked a full-time internship with the Tampa Bay Rays in their broadcasting department, where he finally was able to turn his life-long love of baseball into a job. His other broadcasting experience includes an internship with CBS News at their national headquarters in New York City, sports-talk show hosting and play-by-play duties in college, and hosting his own independent sports talk podcast.
He is a graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa, the same college his mother is an alum of. He is a native New Yorker, growing up in Valley Stream, a suburb just east of the City. His father is originally from London, and has family in the UK, New York, Florida, and Michigan.
Matt grew up a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Jets, New York Knicks, and New York Islanders. He enjoys spending his free time with friends and family, playing video games, working out, listening to rap (mainly old-school, but some new as well), and of course, playing and watching sports.
As Matt is new to the area, he is eager to meet outstanding athletes, coaches, and people in general to get to know them and tell their stories. Feel free to reach out to him on social media or at firstname.lastname@example.org
