Emily Davies joined the WSAW-TV news team in October, 2013. She is now part of north central Wisconsin’s only investigative team, 7 Investigates, as a full-time investigative reporter, something she has been passionate about pursuing since joining the NewsChannel 7 family.
She help to bring to light the problem of sex trafficking in north central Wisconsin through her report, “7 Investigates: Sex Trafficking.” She also uncovered what state and federal government entities knew before Grassland Dairy dropped more than 70 farms due to a new Canadian dairy industry pricing policy, along with showing the buying practices of Grassland Dairy leaders of local dairy farms in a two-part series “7 Investigates: Grassland Dairy.”
Since being hired, Emily has taken on many roles throughout the newsroom, including morning producer, general assignment reporter on all shifts, Sunrise 7 Sunday producer and anchor, and most recently Sunrise 7 anchor.
Emily is both a Wisconsinite and Californian, spending about half of her life in each state. She spent her younger years in Pewaukee, WI and did not let her Packer, Brewers, Badger, and other Wisconsin-related sports fandom go when she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), helping to win the Mark of Excellence Award: Best All-Around Television Newscast from the Society of Professional Journalist. She also interned with KTVU Channel 2 in Oakland, CA, the FOX affiliate for the Bay Area during her summers and at the ABC affiliate in Los Angeles, KABC 7, while at CSUN.
When not searching out stories, Emily can be found volunteering in the community, including at Stable Hands Equine Therapy Center, going off on adventures around town, and learning something new.
She encourages people with story ideas to reach out to her through email, Facebook, and Twitter, or by calling the newsroom at (715)845-0077.
