Sanika joined the NBC15 team in September 2018. Since then, she has enjoyed meeting people and covering stories across Southern Wisconsin, particularly in 2020 - covering the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 presidential election and protests and unrest following the death of George Floyd. Her work on covering those protests earned her and her teammates two Emmy nominations and one Emmy award for the morning newscast following the first night of unrest.
No stranger to the Midwest, Sanika was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California, studying broadcast journalism. While at USC, she covered everything from wildfires to the San Bernardino shooting to the 2017 Women's March. After graduation, she moved back to the Midwest and has been enjoying Madison's restaurants and lakes ever since!
