Dale joined NewsChannel 7 in April 2007 as weekend sports anchor and reporter. He was named the station's sports director in May 2009 and was promoted to WZAW's NewsChannel 7 at 9 anchor in November 2017.
Since making the move to the newsroom after nearly 20 years in sports, Dale has started a popular series called, "You Know You're From..." highlighting people and places that are unique to a community.
Dale has been recognized for his on-air work throughout the years with awards from the Associated Press, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, Eric Sevareid Awards for midwest journalists and an Emmy nomination.
His career started at KSTF in Scottsbluff, NE as weekend sports anchor, eventually jumping across the street to KDUH to be their sports director. From there it was to WJFW in Rhinelander, then off to WQAD in the Quad Cities, and back to Wausau.
Dale is happy to be back in northcentral Wisconsin bringing you the area's best news coverage, while also lending his support to various organizations, including the annual Swing Against Cancer event in Wisconsin Rapids, where Bill Babcock is probably reading this to a room full of big-hearted people and former pro athletes who love to eat and play golf while supporting a good cause :)
Dale, his wife, Suzy, and daughter Cadence live in Merrill.
