First Alert Weather: Showers and storms on Father’s Day

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Father’s Day will not be picture perfect across North Central Wisconsin as there will be lots of clouds with the risk of scattered showers in the morning, then times of rain and a few storms in the afternoon through the late evening hours.

Saturday started off with scattered early morning showers and storms. A few storms were strong, producing hail in parts of Waupaca and Shawano Counties, east to the Fox Valley. Sunshine was mixed with clouds during the day as temps rose well into the 70s to low 80s.

Partly cloudy tonight and quiet with lows in the mid to upper 50s. Considerable cloudiness on Father’s Day tomorrow. Showers will start to pop up in parts of the area by late morning, followed by times of rain showers and scattered storms. The best bet of storms will be during the late afternoon into the evening. A few strong storms are possible south and west of Wausau which could produce downpours, gusty winds, and small hail. A cold front will usher the wet weather out of the area around or after midnight. Some clouds and become breezy overnight with lows in the mid 40s to around 50.

Brisk and cooler on Monday with some sunshine, along with clouds. Highs in the mid 60s. Wind gusts on Monday could be up to 30 mph.

Partly sunny on Tuesday with a chance of showers or a storm late in the day. High in the low 70s. Showers and storms are possible Tuesday night. Intervals of sunshine with a few clouds on Wednesday and warmer. Highs in the low 80s. Mostly cloudy Thursday with showers and storms expected. There may be some storms Thursday into Thursday night that are strong. Highs in the low 80s. Partly sunny on Friday with highs in the mid 70s. Partly cloudy to start next weekend with highs in the low to mid 70s.
