WIAA updates spectator guidelines for outdoor spring state tournaments, lifts mask mandate
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - The WIAA voted to update the spectator guidelines ahead of outdoor spring tournaments Tuesday night, including lifting the mask mandate if social-distancing cannot be maintained.
The board also reduced the quarantine period after a close contact for athletes from 14 days to six days. If the athlete is vaccinated and symptom-free, they would not have to quarantine after close-contact.
They added that if social distancing is not possible, they encourage masks for everyone not participating.
The first spring tournament is boys golf from June 14-15, with many other tournaments starting in later June.
