It's a place where kids can pretend to be a news anchor, play with animal puppets, and go grocery shopping all under one roof. The Central Wisconsin Children's Museum in Stevens Point will be celebrating it's one year anniversary from moving to it's new location on Main Street. The celebration will take place on January 7th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will include a sampling of the museum's new weekly programs such as Story Share and Amazing Art.

With eight interactive exhibits, including a dentist's office and art room, the museum is a fun place to spend the day with a child.

"I like coming here because I stay at home and I work from home so it gives me a chance to have him play around for a little bit," said Julie Hopfensperger, who was at the museum with her son Jaxon. "It's not really a "looking" museum -- you play!" said Marketing and Membership Coordinator, Abby Bergeron. "We have a huge art room, thousands of crafts projects. We have weekly projects that are set out for the kids to do. It's basically "use you imagination and have fun!"

The museum is also having a special program on New Year's Eve from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a party with ginger ale, noise makers and a ball drop. The event will also include a countdown to noon for kids who can't stay up until midnight.
