Winter Family Fun, Outdoors!

The winter season doesn’t have to be dull and boring … it can be fun, exciting, and full of surprises! Outdoor activities are plentiful in the winter season … all you need is a few layers, some great company, and a whole lot of laughs!

Sledding - A pastime that never gets old! Whether it’s in your neighborhood, or at a local park, this activity is sure to get the blood flowing, and produce many memories and laughs along the way!

Ice Skating - Sure, it can be intimidating, but it can be a lot of fun too! Find a local indoor or outdoor rink, bundle up, and hit the ice! Be sure to wear gloves in case your feet are a little rusty on the ice!

Tobogganing - It's a lot like sledding ... but a little more intense! Some local parks have Toboggan runs ... or, you can bring your own toboggan sled to your local 'sledding hill'. Pile on the kids and yourself and let the breeze take you down the slopes!

Skiing - While it's not for everyone, skiing can be fun and exciting for the little ones, and for the adults too! Find a local ski resort and make a weekend of it. Or, just take a day trip with your family and friends. Ski a little, laugh a lot, and fill up on hot cocoa and marshmallows!

Snowball Fights and Snow Angels - These activities are for the young and young at heart! Get outside, after the snow has fallen, and take aim! Be sure to aim below the face though! Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt from those flying snowballs! If you want a little less action, make a snow angel. Just lie down in the freshly fallen snow, and wave your arms and legs back and forth! Take a picture and capture the memory too!
