NOAA is short for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the parent organization of the National Weather Service. NOAA radios provide continuous weather information, including the broadcast of all weather advisories, watches, and warnings issued for a given local area. NOAA weather radio broadcasts are now available in most locations in the U.S. These radios come in a variety of sizes, from portable to desktop models, with AC or DC power options or both.
