For the next couple of days, temperatures are expected to reach well into the 40s. Typically, this would be the coldest part of the year, but it doesn't feel like it.
Meteorologist Chad Franzen says because there's very little snow cover outside, temperatures get an extra boost. He said, "Right now we're in the split flow, where the northern branch remains up in Canada and the southern branch is in the desert. That's why Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas have a lot of snow and storm systems in the last couple of weeks and here in Wisconsin, it's been very few and far between."
Of course, we all know there's plenty of winter to go yet. The cold is expected to return later this week, with highs in the teens.
