Travel Tough in Parts of Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A combination of falling and blowing snow is making travel difficult in parts of Wisconsin.

Numerous spinouts kept law enforcement agencies busy in eastern Wisconsin Friday morning where the wind off Lake Michigan caused heavy drifting. Light to moderate snow was expected to fall throughout the day.

Dozens of school districts decided to give students a long weekend, including Green Bay, Manitowoc, Oconto Falls, Wautoma and Wild Rose. The University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc also called off classes.

Snow totals ranged from 6 inches at New London in Waupaca County, 4 to 5 inches at La Crosse and 5 inches at Plover in Portage County.
