In Marathon County, a twister was spotted about 7:00 p.m. about six miles west of Rib Mountain. Some of our viewers captured dramatic video, but there were no reports of injuries or strong damage. The National Weather Service reports the tornado was a weak EF0. Some witness, including law enforcement say it looked thin and rope-like as it traveled northeast at 60 m.p.h. causing tree damage along its path.
The twister moved northeast to Wausau. Heavy winds blew panels off the BP Station on Stewart Avenue and knocked over a stop light.
Severe weather also hit Eau Claire, downing trees and powerlines.
In Douglas County, heavy rains caused flooding that caused several streets to close. Strong winds downed trees and powerlines in Door County.
