A Wisconsin Public Service spokesperson says they have additional crews enroute from Green Bay, Chilton, Two Rivers, Oshkosh, Stevens Point and Rhinelander to Merrill and Antigo to repair outages that have left thousands without power.
Outages in Merrill and Wausau have more than 6,000 without power. WPS has received lots of reports of wire down and are urging the public to be safe while cleaning up storm damage.
Residents in Merrill experienced the most damage due to the storm. Kenneth Jones said a tree fell onto the roof of his house, destroying his kitchen and many personal possessions.
"It woke us up and knocked all the power out," he says. "15 minutes after that the roof caved down."
