About 4,000 people could be without power for 2 to 3 days, according to the Shawano County Sheriff's Department.
This comes after heavy, wet snow damaged power lines.
Most of the homes affected are on the west side of Shawano County. Central Wisconsin Electric Coop. crews are working on restoring power.
Officials with the Sheriff's Department warn people to never touch or come near a power line on the ground.
