Wisconsin Public Service Corp. reports nearly 10,000 people were without power in NorthCentral and NorthEast Wisconsin after a storm came through the area Wednesday evening.
The hardest hit parts of our area are Rhinelander, Merrill and Tomahawk.
At 8:45pm, WPSC reported there were 9998 customers without electricity. Down from more than 10,000 after the storm hit.
In our area, Rhinelander had 2238 in the dark, Merrill 1171 and Tomahawk 1040 at 8:45pm.
Wabeno, Antigo and Minocqua also reported outages.
By 10:30pm, that number was down to 7004, with Rhinelander still having more than 2000 customers in the dark.
The National Weather Service never issued any severe storm warnings, but branches were reported down in several areas.
